ABOUT US

Mzuka is a Swahili word that means a ‘Blast of energy’ and that is exactly the kind of choir Mzuka aspires to be. We sing songs of an African root, a lot of soulful, jazzy and contemporary African music. Our songs are not only melodious and dynamic but they also tell a story and impact our audience. Mzuka is here to touch the hearts of the Jacobs community as well as the larger outside community through song, rhythm and dance.

Founded on February 2011 by two African students, Uchenna Udeh(Nigeria, 11') and Imelda Rweyemamu(Tanzania, 13') at Jacobs University Bremen, today Mzuka has had 3 successful concerts on the university campus and a number of performances on and off campus in community events.

We love to sing, entertain and spread the spirit of African rythms wherever we go. Contact us if you would like us to sing in your community and we will let you know our availability. Support us and join us in our events in and out of the Jacobs University Campus.

If you are passionate about African Music and you live in Bremen, join our family today! We meet every Tuesday from 21.00h in the Interfaith House at Jacobs. We believe if you can talk, you can sing so come join us for the love of MUSIC!!!
